Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
The school day begins at 7:30 am and ends at 2:40 pm (Early dismissal is 12:40 pm).
Main Building
Arrival
- Parents of Pre-Kindergartners are to enter Door #23 off of the parking lot and take students directly to their classroom door in the Main building.
- All sixth-eighth graders are to enter through the main door (Door #22) off of Outer Drive.
Dismissal
- Parents of Pre-Kindergartners pick students up at their classroom door.
- All students are dismissed from the Door #22
- Bus riders are dismissed from class at 2:35 and are to exit Door #23 to report to their bus.
Late Arrivals
- Students who arrive late must enter Door #23. They will sign in at the Security table and obtain a tardy pass to give to their teacher.
Early pick Ups
- Parents must report to the attendance agent's office (located in the Annex) and sign their child out of school if they leave before the regular dismissal time. The attendance agent will contact the teacher and have the student escorted over to the Annex prepared to go home. Children are not dismissed from the classroom without an official notification from the office.
Annex
Arrival
- All students in grades K through 5 are to enter through the main door (Door #1) located at the front of the building off of Outer Drive and procede into the lunch room for breakfast
Dismissal
- Students in grades K through 4th are dismissed from the front door (Door #1) of off Outer Drive
- Students in 5th grade are dismissed from Door #18 on South Hampton located on the east side of the building

Attendance Agents

Mr. Bullock
Mr. Bullock is an active addition to Ronald Brown Academy. He is the attendance agent who is responsible for tracking student's daily virtual attendance, reaching out to parents of those students who are chronically tardy or absent. Mr. Bullock works closely with teachers and administrators to ensure that students are accounted for in virtual classes on a daily basis. He coordinates wellness checks and communicates with parents to make sure students are attending online school daily.

Ms. Dillard
Alana Dillard is one of the attendance agents at Ronald Brown Academy. She enjoys executing her role in making sure every child is in school every day. She handles specifics, details, organization, and the other varying intricacies of her job with ease and has a noticeable impact on improving the attendance rate at her school. Alana's philosophy is the most important thing about every academic day is the attendance of every child. She enjoys bringing this philosophy to life and assisting in making sure every child possible is in attendance every day.

Parent Academy
DPSCD's Family and Community Engagement team will continue the Parent Academy courses virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Families can still take advantage of the beneficial content by dialing in over the phone or joining courses online. We will offer fun and interactive content for every family. From cooking to coding, the spring catalog is filled with activities to continue supporting DPSCD's families. Take a look at what we are offering this fall. We hope to see you virtually, at an upcoming class, or distance learning training.

- Student Achievement — workshops and activities that provide strategies and tools for parents to support academic achievement at home and in school.
- Personal and Professional Development — workshops that build confidence while addressing basic needs, employment, family support, financial literacy and goal setting for the healthy development of families
- Parenting/Advocacy — workshops for parents and caregivers to build and increase their effectiveness in advocating and leading on behalf of children.
